After spending time reviewing a lot of early-stage fundraising setups, one pattern keeps coming up.
Founders often spend a lot of time polishing pitch decks, but much less time pressure-testing the basics — clarity of the ask, consistency of the story, and how easily someone external can understand the opportunity.
What stood out to me is that small gaps here compound quickly. When those fundamentals aren’t tight, even strong decks struggle to convert interest into actual conversations.
Curious if others here have noticed similar patterns, especially pre-seed to Series A.
This is a great breakdown. I've seen so many founders struggle with the storytelling aspect of their decks. If anyone here is currently preparing their fundraising materials and needs a professional hand with their pitch deck, I'm offering design services for $299 right now to help out the IH community.
One thing I didn’t mention above is how often founders assume they’re “not ready yet,” when in reality it’s just a few missing pieces that create friction.
This took me a while to realize.
