What if productivity isnt the real problem?

While building Unjam, I’ve been thinking about something:

What if the problem isn’t productivity?

What if it’s overwhelm?

Most tools try to optimize output.

But when someone is stuck, they don’t need optimization.

They need clarity.

That’s what I’m trying to build toward.

Something small that helps people move from “stuck” to “clear.”

Curious if others have thought about this shift.

this resonates. i spent weeks building features for my outreach tool before realizing the real problem was just getting the first email sent. all the optimization in the world means nothing when you're stuck on step one. clarity about what actually matters (sending, not perfecting) was the unlock. the overwhelm for me came from having 13 potential income streams and trying to work on all of them at once. narrowing down to one — cold outreach to agencies — cleared the fog immediately.

Wait this is literally what I’ve been noticing too.

It’s not that people don’t know what to do, it’s that their brain is trying to hold too many directions at once.

The 13 income streams thing is SO real 😭 because suddenly every option feels urgent and then you end up doing nothing.

The “sending, not perfecting” shift is such a good way to put it.
