I’ve worked closely with app developers for years, and I noticed something interesting.
Developers spend a lot of time trying to get more 5-star reviews.
They ask friends to rate the app.
They ask existing users for reviews.
They run campaigns.
But I kept thinking — what if we focused on why users aren’t giving us 5 stars in the first place?
Because your reviews are already telling you.
A user might say:
“The app is great, but it keeps crashing when I try to upload a file.”
Another might say:
“Please add dark mode.”
Another:
“The latest update made the app much slower.”
Individually, these reviews are easy to overlook.
But when you analyze hundreds or thousands of them together, patterns start appearing.
So I built Review Intelligence.
It uses AI to go beyond simple sentiment analysis. It looks at things like emotions, recurring problems, feature requests, user frustrations, positive experiences, and emerging trends across your reviews.
It can also help you understand what your competitors' users are complaining about — because those complaints can become opportunities for your own app.
Instead of asking:
“How can I get more 5-star reviews?”
I wanted developers to be able to ask:
“What is stopping my users from giving me 5 stars?”
And then actually fix those problems.
Because I believe the best way to get more positive reviews isn't to chase reviews.
