The Odin Project
Whenever I can. Right now, it's limited to 3-5 hours per week.
I’m trying to become a more well-rounded engineer in hope that it’ll allow me to build better products quicker and have the confidence to launch them. Coming from a UI background I still find things like database design, infrastructure and security daunting. This also has the advantage of increasing my job opportunities and compensation.
I’m also trying to improve my technical writing which I think is not only a commercially valuable skill but also helps me cement my ideas and understanding. I’m learning this by doing it every day.
Whilst my day job allows me to work on these skills, I’m also spending a lot of my evenings and weekends doing Pluralsight courses and working on side-projects.
