I am a huge fan of taking a large goal and breaking it down to small daily tasks. So if my goal is to build a profitable business, what is a daily task I could start with to slowly chip away at that goal?
Build goodwill with potential customers.
Could be a blog post, free tool, helpful guide, or generally talking about what problems they might need help with, etc.

But seriously - Pick the piece you are least confident in:
Then spend 2 hours every day doing that piece (that is - the one you are least confident in).
If you are a coder and can crank out an MVP in 4-6 weeks, don't worry about this. It can happen later.
If you are a marketer and spending hours per day on Facebook Live, in front of a camera, on the phones, creating and blasting content out left and right is your jam, don't worry about this. It can happen later.
Are you least confident in building the product?
Go code until it's done. If it's going to take more than 8 weeks, pick a different product.
Are you least confident in selling the product?
Sell (call people, email people, talk to people, create fake marketing content and use it to build a list), until you are confident that if you had the product in your hands, you could find 10 people to pay for it on day 1.
Whatever you do - don't do the thing you are comfortable doing. Do the thing that you fear. You will come to a conclusion on the fate of your business much faster this way. And speed is everything.
Talk to a user (or potential user) every day.
Two less common ones I find really useful:
Make your bed first thing in the morning. You'll go on to be more productive during the day. (this works for me)
Delete tasks. Sit down in the morning and work out which of the many things you could be doing that day are the most important for your business' success. Then only do those tasks (or at least do them first).
