I am curious to know your definition of Micro SaaS.
Here is what I liked the most by Tyler from Earnest Capital wrote in his book:
A SaaS business targeting a niche market, run by one person or a small team, with little costs, a narrow focus, a small but dedicated user base, and no outside funding.
A Micro-SaaS is the "lifestyle business" of the SaaS world.
That definition pretty much hits the nail on the head. The main point is that it's solving a specific problem for a specific audience, so there's no true desire to grow like crazy like unicorns would.
Love that definition. Just the term "niche" also has different definitions. On one hand, you don't want to go too niche, but also don't want to go too broad.
SaaS = Domino’s
MicroSaaS = Uncle Tony, Italian Pizza since 1965
MicroSaaS is intentionally kept small to preserve authenticity as well as the sanity of its founders. Lifestyle and profitability are more important than valuations and growth metrics.
Hey Utsav, I've tried to answer this question -- exploring the definition of Micro-SaaS
Check it out, let me know what you think!
I love that concept as well, reminds me the bio of @dvassallo: "Building a portfolio of small bets".
build an MVP, 1 feature and turning it profitable microstartups.
I started a small group here - https://www.indiehackers.com/group/microstartups
It can be SaaS or any kinds of business model.
I hope to make too
Micro SaaS is a software service product that is optimized to be sold to one person for a very small fee, making it accessible and affordable. Businesses that sell micro SaaS are sometimes referred to as micro companies or micro businesses.
Micro SaaS is a subset of SaaS (software as a service). Both micro SaaS and SaaS require customers to pay an ongoing subscription fee. Micro SaaS is designed to serve a single customer rather than being deployed across an entire organization.
