What is that one article every Indie Hacker must read at least once?

Hey there,

I think we all have our favorite articles about the matters we discuss here, but if you had to chose one to recommend to everyone joining this community, which would it be?

I'm curious about the criteria you would use to make that recommendation. Would it be trying to make the user aware of common mistakes? Maybe the most inspiring?

I would like to see your recommendations.

Hands down Patrick McKenzie’s “the business of saas”. The most clear, tactical information I’ve seen yet about creating a profitable business model for IHs.

The one that stands out to me would be Nathan Barry’s “The Ladder’s of Wealth Creation.” I thought it did a great job of outlining the big picture of the journey, but still gave several really great ground level tips as you move from stage to stage in your IH journey. https://nathanbarry.com/wealth-creation/

Very good article. Thanks for sharing.

I have few friends who built successful businesses or startups and when I asked similar question they usually replied "Didn't read anything, we were busy building".

Do things that don't scale: Paul Graham

Most successful founders seem to refer to this article a lot.

Since many of the businesses here aim to be SaaS, I would recommend any article that walks through unit economics. I can’t remember where I first read about it so feel free to link here if you find a good explanation. As for the reason, I guess it’s because of all that people spend on ads only to not have it pay off.
