What is the best way to get freelance UI/UX help?
Hi guys - hope you're all staying safe & sane. Solo hacker here who has recently launched a simple site that shows different menswear collections. Here's the key landing/value page: https://theblanktape.com/men/today.
I think I've got the bones & core functionality where I want it to be. But I need help making the site more visually professional & appealing.
So far, I've had poor results with designers on Upwork. I'm either doing it wrong or looking in the wrong place. Any advice or recommendations on where/how to find effective freelance design help would be well appreciated.

Your work is really great. I got my self looking in Pinterest for fashion ideas to wear myself sometimes and a site like yours with lots of material is great.

Upwork is sometimes a hit or miss, which is why I don't use it often.

Always check their portfolio before hiring...or at least if they can give you some of their previous works to look at is better than nothing. Same as hiring developers.
Also, you should know what you want and not just say you want a good new design.
must be specific like purpose, what's the main goal for revising, the style (provide some references), audiences type...etc.

Given that you built your current site, I'd recommend you a different path: https://tailwindui.com
It'll save you loads of cash while getting a decent UI.

I'm not affiliated with them in any way. I've read the book and also using TailwindUI for my product (and I'm not a designer), and I can tell this is more than enough for now.
