I've been holding off on sharing PanelJam.com on PH largely because I'm worried about getting my "one shot" at the launch wrong.
But with a local holiday in my province coming up August 5th, I'm thinking this is the perfect chance to have a full day off from my day job to go for a PH launch on a weekday.
As I've got a few weeks to prepare, I'd love to hear from any of you with experience.
What works and what doesn't? How much prep is required?
Is there a guide to follow?
Thank you IH! :)
Erase this from your brain! That pressure is made up. :)
Every business launches 1000's of times, because every time you launch, 99.99999999% of your potential customers won't notice, or won't be ready, or you won't have the marketing message just right yet, or....
ProductHunt makes this illusion even worse with the illusion that it's where your audience is (odds are, it's not).
Your product/game looks awesome, btw. I'd take that day off of work and focus on sharing it into more focused/specific communities where you can build trust and credibility among artists, people who like drawing, people who like comics, people who like making comic stories, people who like reading comics of specific kinds....etc.
A product hunt launch is basically like pulling the handle of a slot machine. You might get lucky, but you probably won't. Put your energy into strategic gains instead!
See @diannamallen's recent PH launch too, for inspiration.
Oh, I'm learning plenty from how she's approached marketing :)
