What is the best way to transition from a no-account required approach to a create-account strategy?
Hi all,
I have released an MVP of my app. Users do not need to create an account to use it, and all data is saved locally on the iPhone.
I want to add an account creation feature for those interested in syncing data across devices and accessing exclusive benefits, only for premiums .
Should I place the subscription button along with the registration page, or should I have users create their account first and then subscribe?
I am a little bit lost…. Knowing I don’t want to pay servers fees for those with account and non subscription ^^

The fundamental thing you need to realize is that you will lose users every step of the way in the funnel.
Account -> App
Account -> Subscription -> App
Both will result in equal number of registrations (since you have their email) but the latter strategy will result in people dropping off at subscription and not even trying out your app.
So, former strategy is useful if you think users will subscribe only after they experience the product. Latter is appropriate if the value prop is so strong they you expect people to subscribe right away.
