What is the difference that makes a difference in your business?

Have you ever noticed that what differents most companies, selling the same product & services, isn't their branding but their logos & colors?

If you visit websites of competing companies, you’ll find that they really offer no meaningful differentiation. If you remove logos from different eCommerce websites, you'd struggle to differentiate them.

I get it, it's easy and comfortable to look like your competitors, but the problem is you will always remain behind the curve.

You see, there are more than 50 car brands in the world, but what makes other brands greater than others is simply because they have mastered the art of differentiation.

Ferrari doesn't sell cars, it sells speed.
Volvo doesn't sell cars, it sells safety.
BMW doesn't sell cars, it sells drivability.

This goes for your business too. If you find the difference that makes the difference in your business, you will always lead the pack.

There are a ton of little differences that you can add, or take away, that will make a big difference to either your internal culture, your customer’s experience, or the bottom line.

in the current scenario, people are making use of a templating system that would help them quickly develop their websites. These autogenerating tools often do not change much. Hence, similar looking websites.
An eCommerce site can stand out by concentrating not just buyer and seller, but also the promoter. They should allow affiliate marketing so that people who blog can post these links on their blogs.
What are your thoughts on this?

I agree, templates are solving some problems and creating a different kind of a problem at the same time.

We at berlocks would want to bring in a difference in customer experience. We collect feedback from customers that contribute to the development of new features.

Sounds interesting, suppose customers want one feature and the other group wants a different feature, how do you handle that situation?

Good point. Then, the question of KPI comes in. The feature that contributes the most to KPI is taken up to develop. A little study into the features can reveal which one of them will add to the development of the product thereby increasing the revenue (If it is a KPI).

              Interesting. Well put.
