What is wrong with my landing?

Hey founders!

So I have this landing for my current project: https://prepto.tech

It's not my first landing page, but after running some ads, I can say this landing is the worst.

I understand that it may be related to the idea(more likely -- positioning) itself, but I've got 0 sign-ups both from Meta & Reddit ads.

Maybe I miss something very basic and obvious, please share your thoughts.

What's wrong with the page now?
  1. Looks cheap & unprofessional
  2. Idea is not clear
  3. Just nothing interesting
  4. Another reason (please write a few words in comment section)

    Hi,

I’m specialized in CRO (Conversion Rate Optimization), which is the art of improving conversions on the web.

Right now, I’m offering completely free support for landing pages. Basically, I’ll audit your landing page and give you clear recommendations, both short- and long-term, to help boost your conversions, all based on research and proven methods.

I provide this service for free under these conditions:

    1. you apply my recommendations,
    2. you give me feedback,
    3. you leave a review if you think it deserves it,
    4. your page has more than 4,000 visitors per month.

Feel free to reach out if you’d like my help, or if you know someone who might benefit from it. Thanks for your time, and have a great day.
You can contact me at: [email protected] o m

Warning: Honest and real feedback, no sugar coating. Might feel rough.

    1. Ace your next PHP interview effortlessly” is a strong claim, but the supporting points (“Master the 20 most in-demand backend topics…”) feel shallow. Shorter, pain-focused points would connect better with interview-prepping users.
    2. The video should autoplay in loop. Also, there are zoom glitches—it’s jittery and distracting. Needs to be smoother.
    3. “Start your trial”, “Learn how it works”—both CTAs look fine. But that random PHP logo below? Doesn’t add value. Looks misplaced.
    4. “How It Works” Section Has Extra Fluff — The definition right below the heading is unnecessary. Just say “Your dream job is just three steps away.” That’s enough.
    5. Three-Step Design is Weak — The width of each step can be reduced for a tighter layout. The horizontal dotted line from 1 to 3 feels scattered. It lacks polish.
    6. “Our Users Preparing For” Section Adds No Value — Not sure if this section is even relevant for your ICP. Feels like filler. If you want to add hashtags, place them at the bottom.
    7. Don’t just say “AI-powered preparation.” Say how it helps: “AI helps you prepare faster for interviews”—something that addresses user pain points. Just saying “tracking system” isn’t enough. Why does the user need it? Explain the benefit, not just the feature.
    8. Placing the coupon code right near the pricing looks like a desperate attempt to fix a broken product. Move it up—maybe to the hero section—framed as a time-limited offer.
    9. 7-Day Free Trial Placement Makes No Sense — Currently buried under pricing. Instead, create a separate highlighted section for it—right before the pricing box.
    10. FAQs should be placed above pricing. Use collapsible sections. Add more questions. Use this space to address real objections, e.g., “Why not just use ChatGPT to prepare?”.
    11. There is no trust factors like people who used it, feedback from the people who used your service. Having faces, logos and testimonial helps build trust factor and converts better.
    12. If you haven't got any paid user yet, better to experiment with pricing as well, your ICP might feel service bit too costly, but its subjective and should be verified using A/B testing. Also, giving trial without asking for a verified payment method might help if you haven't experimented with that yet.
    13. Design looks basic, better to use a paid modern theme.

      Hello Abhishek!

First of all, many thanks for your efforts and such deep points. I appreciate your help! I'll implement and improve everything you wrote to have a better positioning and more structured landing with the right messaging and designs.

Also, that was an interesting point about the pricing section because after you said it, I feel this way :D

I'm always experimenting and trying to improve both my designer and marketer skills. I'll finally give up on design skills and buy some professional themes. I've created a new version of landing- https://prepto.tech/new, but after running some ads(with very low conversion/activation) + your advice, I'll improve it.

Glad you found the points helpful! New perspective always reveals something new! The design looks better on new link, I think you will be able to do it without a professional theme now, just some section needs improvement. You can take inspiration from 1 of my landing page, emailing you the link on your contact email of prepto.tech.

Think you could improve the visuals to look more polished and less "empty space"

Looks better than anything I'm currently capable of.
Do you know how many people are visiting in the first place? You've mentioned 0 sign-ups, but how many people are coming to the site? Maybe flow is low?

One tiny hack I think would make it look batter: alternate shading of the divs throughout (so each section is a mini-page unto itself.

In particular, by making the top section more distinct, it hads a "gravity" or "heft" to that content.

Looks good, but you can improve the design a bit, I suggest you autostart the hero video (loop)
