I'm doing some research for an analytics MVP and would love to spark a conversation about your setup and problems you run into.
More specifically, I'd like to know:
- Which SaaS tools do you use that generate source data about your product, development, clients, etc (Google Analytics, Hubspot, DataDog, etc)
- Do you aggregate this data with your core databases for any use cases? How?
- If not, is it a problem that you have data silos?
- What do you use for analytics? Is it quick to set up? Flexible enough?
- Where are your pain points in getting from raw data to valuable insights?
I'm using both GoatCounter and SimpleAnalytics @ https://zlipa.com. Loving them both.
I'm currently running Virtual Mojito on Notion. Hence it's very limited in terms of analytics. So far, I measure different touch points on Google analytics, Bitly and Cloudflare. @squillink
I use the following tools for SplashPad (https://getsplashpad.com):
Amplitude to track user actions.
Full Story to watch replays of specific user sessions.
Sentry to monitor server-side errors for my API/webhook endpoints.
FormSpree to send me email messages about key things (e.g., when a new user signs up).
I don't aggregate the data with my core databases. Other than a unique identifier, I don't share any personally identifiable information across products in order to maintain privacy and security.
Not a problem. I haven't had the need to aggregate this kind of information yet. Set up has been pretty easy for all of these products.
Thanks for breaking this down for me! I respect that you are conscious of the privacy of PII.
I'm working on an analytics MVP. However I am stuck on where/how to start. This thread would be helpful for me. Glad that you asked this question.
