What is your cookie preference and consent attitude?

https://app.onlinesurveys.jisc.ac.uk/s/northumbria/cookie-consent-preferences-your-opinion-matters

I'm doing my Masters dissertation in the UK to understand user's attitude towards Cookie consent, preference and how to improve safer data collection.

I'd appreciate if you can take part in this A/B test which takes less than 2 minutes.

Thanks in advance

In addition to hitting reject all when available, or turning off everything in customize, I also configure my browser to reject 3rd party cookies, and delete all cookies when closed (which I do at the end of every day). Only sites I whitelist will see me for more than one day; other sites will see a new user with no cookies.

Thanks for the comment, it's interesting to see you reject 3rd party cookies considering you prefer more control in hand as a user.

Completed! I tend to hit “reject all” most of the time, so it's hard to choose which UIs are trustworthy. I chose #1 because I think it's more likely to get someone to click the “accept” button from a business perspective, but I'm not sure that's the answer you're looking for 😅

Thanks for filling the survey for the research and yes I agree, the more we look at options to reject, the more we are driven towards it. There are lots of mixed responses so far, I'll start evaluating once the desired number of participants have reached.

    Filled.

Would you be releasing the results here in some X amount of time?

Thanks for the support and yes probably around mid-September once the research is done, I'll create a post about the research.

Completed! I actually really appreciated this- it got me thinking about the little things we can do to build trust. I tend to just always “select all” because it’s easier than figuring out what cookies to accept or reject. The path of least resistance. I appreciate the options that honor my autonomy while being transparent.

Thanks a lot for the comment, I hope it helps the everyday user to rethink their privacy and hopefully help small business to get more data while respecting our privacy.

Filled your survey, nice one! Actually examples of cookie consent banners made me re-consider my default cookies acceptance. Good luck with your dissertation!
