What is your favorite Google Analytics metric?

For me, the most interesting is to see all referrals

From my experience analyzing all sorts of companies, my favorite metrics really depend on the company.

I had a company who was targeting parents, but revenue/conversion rate by demographics showed me that grandparents were their true market, buying at 10x the rate of the parents.

Bounce rate can be great as well, finding a page that may be broken on certain devices/browsers and seeing the money you lose on that can be a big help.

Seeing landing page and the the next page they go to helps to understand people's movement through the site. And tie that with the page value metric and you can see the most valuable page to direct people to after your landing page, so you can increase your conversion rate. There is a lot of cool data in there.

But I am super biased. I am relaunching an old company of mine that automatically finds insights into your google analytics data and points you in the right direction. https://insightswebanalytics.com/ (if you are curious, I am in beta right now)

    Thanks for starting this tread!

    Can I mention 2 favorite metrics :p

    1. Cohort analysis (it’s one of the key metrics of companies I work for)

    2. Bounce rate (it’s an optimization indicator to alert myself for a side project )

The reason behind this metric being most favorite for me is because I can see which websites started to using bots created on botmake.io

Sometimes it can be some blogpost about my product as well.
