What is your favorite method of self-promotion? Has it been successful?

for me it is writing directly to the customer. For example if you have built a marketing automation product than I think it is a good practice to find bunch of contacts from marketing firms in Linkedin and write directly to marketing personnel asking whether they would be interested or not :)

Make a blog to talk about the product or app. Then promote to the people who would benefit or might make the decision to use it.

Commenting on Reddit posts when the OP complained about a problem I could help with or asked for a solution similar to my product. Reddit is generally tough on self-promotion but in this case it's asked for and appreciated!

I told a circle of friends about my blog when I started it gave a good start and helpful comments 😇

Personally, I prefer to promote my business through Instagram, it's a good way to become popular in your field, but users rarely trust accounts with a small number of followers.

Just telling people! Because I think my product/app/whatever is awesome and will benefit them. Usually starts with friends. Then associates. Then anyone and everyone.
