What I've learned from my marketing launch

Site: https://getrook.io/

I teased the launch last week and had a lot of Facebook engagement on my personal profile (100+ likes and 7 shares). The launch itself only has 30ish likes (as of now) and 2 shares. I don't know if I can put my finger on it, but there's something to take away from that.

Google analytics is waaaay more important than I thought. Bounce rate seems like a way better statistic than unique views and sessions. Mine is at 40%, which is what I'd expect from a Facebook launch (untargeted and posted from my personal account). But average session time seems even more important than bounce rate. My average session time was just over 3 minutes. Pretty stoked about that.

By far, highest number of page views was the home page and the pricing page. There were like 12 views on the about page.

There were also 10 direct links yesterday, which is really cool because I only shared on Facebook. Which means that 10 people came to the site from a direct share. Which means that I've already got some advocates out there.

After all of it, there were 10 newsletter subscribers from 68 unique sessions - so roughly 15% conversion to newsletter. Which hopefully, will lead to more product conversions in January when I release.

All in all, it's not the volume I was hoping for (but is it ever?) after the initial engagement, but that said, I haven't done any marketing or anything other than publish on my own personal Facebook profile. It looks like the site itself is engaging (with 3 minute sessions) and 10 newsletter conversions. So those numbers have me optimistic and excited.

Thanks for sharing. Yeah, having initial conversions without much marketing is a good sing.
