What keeps bringing people to your product after launch week ends?
Launch day has a predictable shape: you post, a crowd arrives, the graph spikes, and then it flattens. The part I understand least is week three, when nobody is talking about you and the only visitors are the ones who found you on their own.
The answers I hear usually fall into three buckets. Search, where a few pages that answer a real question keep pulling small but steady traffic. Being listed somewhere people already browse when they're looking for a tool, so you get found without having to be loud again. And word of mouth from a handful of users who keep mentioning you.
What I can't tell from the outside is which one actually did the work, and how long it took before it showed up in the numbers. I'd rather hear a boring, specific answer than a strategy.
So: for the product you're working on now, where did the visitors in month two or month three come from, and was that the channel you expected? And if the honest answer is that traffic just stopped, what did you try next?
Full disclosure, I run a directory (https://www.indieneed.com/submit), so I'm biased toward the "get listed" answer. That's exactly why I'd like to hear the cases where it didn't matter much.
Appreciate the honesty here, most people only share the wins.
