What kind of meetings do you need to run and with what purpose?

I don't like to participate in meetings that are not prepared, where we spend time discussing the purpose of the meeting, or worse where I cannot actually contribute.
So to fix this, I took over in multiple places the role of a meeting organizer where I define the purpose, who should be in, do prep work for the meeting, think about who should be there, have a clear agenda and timing, and many other sides.

I realized recently that I somehow gained a lot of experience in organizing some meetings for various purposes.

Here are some examples:

  • process improvements

  • project management improvements

  • ideation

  • customer feedback

  • improving code reviews

  • forming a new team

  • prioritizing work

  • review requirements

...

And I was thinking if there is a need or case for writing about how to do good/effective meetings.

So I am curious what kind of meetings do you need to run in your daily jobs/work?
