I’m building niche job board for ruby developers in Poland.
First step is to grow my job offers database. My goal is to have more Ruby job offers than large IT job boards here in Poland, this will be my differentiator.
I contact all companies that bought job ads on these boards and ask them if I can put their offers on rubyjobs.pl. It’s free, so for now I have no problems with that. I’m also building my own Ruby companies database, check careers pages and do the same, contact them and put job offers on my site. This way I’m going to have the largest database of Ruby job offers in Poland.
Now, the hard part :). How to get Ruby developers to my job board with these constraints ?
I have full time job, and 1,5 year old kid in home, and close to 1.5 - 2h total commute time, so realistically I have 1-2 hours a day for working on this.
Do you have any thoughts on what marketing efforts should I try ?
I’m thinking about building some Ruby on Rails sideprojects and streaming it on YT. I was doing rubyjobs.pl that way, and I liked it, besides that I see that these large polish IT job boards almost don’t use YT as their marketing channel.
The way I see this is:
I think if you 're talking about traffic, then you can use guest posting. It is a great way to start generating traffic to your website. But it's a long term investment that can yield great results.
