What marketing topic should I cover in the next article?

Hey everyone!

Just started my SEO journey with MakerBox Blog

I will focus on step-by-step guides for Entrepreneurs about building and growing Indie startups.

Keyword research is important but would love to hear ideas from real Makers.

What marketing topic should I cover in the next article?

Share your suggestion and I will write an in-depth guide about it.

Hey Dan, I'd love to read an in-depth review of Product Hunt, Hacker News, Betalist and similar platforms.

    What's your experience with them?
Are those really a must for early-stage makers?
Are they any good for long-term user acquisition? (not sure if that's your case)
    And so on

      Here are some tips buddy.

Check out this piece "Every Idea is Taken" on how to start with the audience and their problem instead of the solution and the product first.

TLDR: Start with the door lock, not the key. Know who your audience is; where they hang; what their problems are; what their desired outcome is; and how valuable a great solution would be for them.

      ## Then start with warm outreach.

Look at the people you already have access to.

Your network is bigger than you think because it's not just the people you know, it includes who they know as well.

If you do a good job of explaining what problem you solve and for whom, they can either tell you that it is or isn't for them, or recommend you.

      Quick tip:

Don't say no for others, let them decline. You'll often be surprised...

Many people will self-reject out of fear. This is where you've got an edge if you're a guy. You already have experience approaching women you think are cute. This is no different. You can't read people's minds. Just reach out and let them tell you whether or not it's a fit. Again, even if you're right and it wasn't, they may refer others and you couldn't have foreseen that.

      ## After that, do cold outreach in the places where your audience hangs out.

Warm outreach + cold outreach is enough to get your first 100 customers.

If it's not, there are only two possible explanations:

      i. You're not doing enough outreach.

I recommend 77 per day for a month (taking Sundays off). That'll give you 2000 outreaches, which is enough data to observe patterns.

      ii. Your offer sucks.

An offer sucks because the problem is not real or your solution to it sucks. The last scenario is impossible in this case. If you do 2000 outreaches, enough people will tell you "Dude, I have this exact problem but can't you do X instead??!! I'd buy that in a heartbeat."
