    1 sleep 7-8 hours ( before 7 am)
    2 make you bed
    3 drink water
    4 10 min workout
5 journal and write down 3 things to finish during the day
6 shower ( until here! almost two hours without checking my phone, that is huge for me)
7 start checking phone and work

Before Bed, I have 2 habits

    2 pomodoros for reading
No phone or screen 2 hours before sleeping!

The key is just start today!

I like this one. Do you check back in the evening if you finished the three things you noted in #5?

No phone in the morning / in the evening sounds really healthy. I just installed my phone charger at my desk instead of my nightstand! πŸ˜‡

I have a 5 minutes day review after work to check all my tasks! About the phone, its just habits, after a few weeks, will be ok!

Prior to going to work I usually (a) read 30 pages of something and (b) write 1,000 words could be my newsletter, journal, essay but the point is that I keep consistent with the numbers I established. Usually takes me like 1 or 1:30 hours, then I proceed to go on with my day. πŸ˜β˜•οΈ

Yes! But having the habit is super nice. I don't get it done all the time but it is what I default to during the mornings. Pushes me forward. Here's the list of writings I've able to make this year:

The tip would be to don't be so hard on yourself.

I walk to my phone outside my bedroom and I turn off the alarm at 7am, stand on my feet for 5 seconds just to decide if I’m still tired or it’s just my eyes that need get used to the morning light. Then I make myself a cup of coffee using a Chemex. The whole ritual help get started.

I was a big fan of mymorningroutine.com where I learned and took advice from some of the most inspiring people around.

That sounds like a clever trick to get up early in the morning, I'm gonna try this out for myself! πŸ‘

I literally roll out of bed, throw on some clothes, grab a bowl of cereal, and start writing code. I do that for about half an hour, then I go for a walk or workout, take a shower, and get dressed. I find starting my day like that sets a good tone for the rest of the day.

When I start coding in the morning right away, there's no limit for me to stop. Does it feel easy for you to do that for just half an hour and then do something else?

I set a Pomodoro kitchen timer, so when that goes off I stop.
