What music do you listen to when working?
I don't know about you, but when I work on anything I NEED background music. I've always been curious to hear what my peers listen to when they are studying, writing, reading, coding, etc. Some friends of mine claim they can only listen to instrumental music if they are studying, but they cannot listen when they are writing. Others believe that classical music is the only genre they can listen to while working. Or, you could be like my peculiar friend who swears by death metal to achieve max productivity.
I became obsessed with listening to music while I work after I discovered a new genre called Lofi Beats or Lofi Hip Hop. It began when I first entered college and I had a much higher volume of work.
Last weekend, I decided to make a mini web app to curate music for studying.

It is built in vue.js, vuetify (material ui component lib), strapi (backend). Purely a passion project :)
I still need to add more content and maybe other small features like a study timer.

I used to listen to a lot of pop music at work. I switched to acoustic recently to celebrate some of my fav singers / songs.
I found it pretty effective and productive for my recent side project haha

I love listening to Trance music while working (and while not working too). But yeah, if I need to be highly concentrated I'll go with instrumental or just no music.
If I need to do a boring and repetitive task, hardcore makes me do it 2x faster at least haha
I wonder if there is a product out there for selecting music from your own library and generating a playlist based on a specific task? Like if I wanted a workout playlist, it could generate one from my saved songs.

That's a cool project! Personally, I don't have a fixed genre; it depends on my mood. Lofi Beats is a great choice, but I also enjoy instrumental post-rock, ambient electronic, and sometimes classical music. Good luck with your app!

I created a tub and invited a friend to listen. He couldn't listen without signing up which deterred him from joining the tub. I think you should let people listen in the tub without an account, but to chat they must make an account.
Music should autoplay when you enter a tub.

Currently to achieve this, there is a lot of overhead. You gotta rent a server and set up OBS to cast nonstop. Overkill if you ask me and if you make that easier there could be more people making stations. Plus the chat in this stream that I sent is a big reason people show up.

Radio-like feature: I've considered the ability to make it radio-like. But I've never seen anyone interested in that so I suspended it for the more requested features.
Ghost Tubers: I've also thought about this but I'm still not convinced for some reason. The system is designed to allow anyone in the Tub to take the remote and control the Media Player if the Tub owner allows. I'm not sure you'll like an unknown Ghost Tuber to be able to take over your Tub and control stuff. Hmm... Or maybe we don't allow a Ghost user to play/pause tracks too. Just listen. But maybe the Tub owner needs to enable allow/disallow Ghost Tubers to enter or not.

No music at all, unless it's something creative like design/layout
It very much depends on the situation/time/mood. If I need to concentrate, instrumental video game soundtracks are my go-to.
I became a dad last month so these days I need something that keeps me awake, usually that's rock concerts on youtube. Can't fall asleep with that energy and a big crowd cheering in the background ;)
This topic can be quite polarizing @lnegritto haha. I personally prefer to have no music at all when concentrating on a piece of work.... and if I do listen to must while working. It is usually music without any lyrics!!
My wife turned me on to Ludovico Einaudi and now I'm hooked. I'm not a generally a fan of classical, but this shit blows my mind. I read somewhere that he's inspired by Eminem.

I read somewhere the magic formula for a “focus playlist” = 50 to 80 BPM songs you already know and like.
This makes it hard to create playlists that also work for other people.

Instrumentals from my fav movie soundtracks. Lately a lot of Back to the Future. When certain songs play, I can picture the exact pointing the movie. Let's you kind of relive the move over and over.
