How clear are you on who your customers are?
Tell us, what is your business and what niche is it serving?
Our solution is API2Cart. The target audience is eCommerce software vendors like order management systems, shipping software, multi-channel software, PIM, etc., but not online store owners.
API2Cart allows such software to integrate with multiple eCommerce platforms and marketplaces and get, add, update, sync various store data like orders, products, customers, shipments, etc. As a result, such software can develop various functions for online store owners like product listings, order import, inventory synchronization, etc.
Wow, this is good timing. I just published an article on The Power of the Niche and what makes a niche so appetizing for bootstrappers.
In my own experience with FeedbackPanda, we were extremely clear. Our niche audience members were:
That meant that FeedbackPanda is (and was from the beginning) an Online ESL Teacher EdTech Productivity SaaS.
Nice post! Also really enjoyed your episode on the podcast :)
Thanks! The highlight of my Indie Hacker life for sure :D
Very good article!
Really good article - thank you for writing and sharing! (I just signed up)
Can you share any insights how you got that clear? I'm assuming you didn't come to this "ah ha" moment without a bunch of iterations and pivots on the niche you settled on.

EventTech - i.e. event app and registration software. Currently, my niche is homeschool conferences. But that needs to expand soon because there are only about 50 homeschool conferences in the US (typically one per state). And they all buy buy during the same time of the year because all the conferences are during a certain time of the year.
Take a look at https://attendify.com. Not necessarily your competitor, but maybe something to get inspiration/ideas from.
Attendify is definitely a competitor. They aren't particularly targetting my niche (more so huge events) but they did have a couple of customers in my niche. One or two of which have switched to my platform.
We should talk.
I run a CFP tracking tool for tech conference speakers and I'm looking to build out a more comprehensive event marketing tool for the niche.
There are a lot of tech conferences and a fair amount of money in them, so it's a decent niche.
For sure! Feel free to email me (email is in my profile). Either building CFPs or integrating with someone who already does it is something I'm interested in doing.
My niche is super specific: RPG Gamemasters who want to create their own RPG Worlds using a light weight traditional RPG Rules system, and have substantial computer support in doing so.

But, I'm trying to refine that further to developer advocates who speak at tech conferences. I've got a pretty solid email newsletter and now I'm working on a SaaS for that niche.
