What part of gamedev do you find most challenging?

For me personally, its the art side.

I can program and am good at logic, but drawing anything other than a stick man is far too hard for me.

I'm either using free or paid assets online, or contracting that part of the work which gets expensive fast.

What about you guys?
How do you work around your lack of skills in certain areas?

Im with you. I get around the no art skills by asking friends that draw to draw my characters and npcs then I build them in blender, rigging and animation. Granted im still learning blender too.

Watching tutorials is fun for me however I lack the artistic side to draw them. Id suggest finding some friend that will draw them up for you and you take over the rest.

I don't currently have any artist friends either.

Solo game "deving" sure is hard. I will have to manage with buying art or using and adapting free online resources. Game Dev is not my main job, just a hobby currently, so that isn't an issue.

      Thank you for your input!

I completely agree. I have a tight community of about 10 that I use for testing so thats how i get my feedback.

For my community I post "progression pictures" in a discord channel for now, since im only working on the backend/mechanics part right now but so far the love the landscapes I've made. Once I start adding the graphics and huds I'll be throwing them demos to test for me for the gameplay feedback, bug finding and story feedback..

We could try and use this comunity to share what we are currently working on or when we need beta testers.

But it needs to get bigger first I guess.
