What’s the best tool for creating free email courses?

I have an idea for a free email course I want to build to help people and validate an idea I have around a book I’d want to eventually attempt writing but I’ve never done anything like this before - what’s the best tool to use for the actual automation of sending of emails and the sign up?

Would appreciate any advice!
