Yesterday, I asked indie makers to submit their products to Indie Need, and the feedback raised an important question: What will make Indie Need different from the many other product directories already available?
I don’t want Indie Need to become just another place where founders submit a link once and never return.
My current idea is to make it more useful in three ways:
Help makers get discovered by people actively looking for useful products.
Make browsing easier through clear categories and simple product pages.
Give makers a reason to return through updates, new launches, feedback, and community discovery.
I’m still deciding what the most valuable repeat-use feature should be. Would you return for product feedback, launch visibility, founder networking, curated collections, analytics, or something else?
I’d really appreciate honest opinions. What would make a product directory genuinely useful to you—not just on submission day, but weeks or months later?
