What site builder should I use?

I'm trying to launch a physical product for the first time, and I'm having trouble finding a good service that will let me do what I need. I've checked out Shopify, Leadpages, Gumroad, Carrd, and I can't find a service that lets me:

  • sell a physical product with a full digital store backing it. (like Shopify does)
  • easily make multiple landing pages, with custom content on each one but reusing the same template (Shopify doesn't allow this, strangely)
  • has nice looking templates to use (Leadpages has a few, Shopify has a bunch)

Anyone know of good alternatives I should check out?

    Can you use webflow?

I've been using Webflow for the past four years and it's an awesome website builder. They have recently launched their e-commerce service but I haven't had a chance to check it out yet.

      An alternative option is Squarespace.

Just took a quick look at webflow, and it looks like it's definitely a strong possibility. Thanks! I'll take a closer look tonight. 👍👍

I'm curious...which option did you decide to go with? It doesn't seem like Webflow makes sense unless you are a designer and want to create your own designs...but I could be wrong....curious if you went with it.

Ah, yeah, I ended up not using Webflow and sticking with Shopify because I had a specific requirement that Webflow doesn't handle yet. I needed the customer to be able to enter a custom message for each product they buy (to customize the product with). That was easily handled by Shopify.

I was able to figure out a way to re-use components on Shopify, although not as easily as I hoped for.

Certainly worth checking Webflow out! I second this.

@yj did you end up finding an alternative that worked for you?

    Hi @yj

I know you've worked through somewhat of a solution, but I wanted to follow up with a quick video I made walking through a custom store setup (as you've described) step-by-step in Webflow.

Would love some feedback to understand if it's helpful at all:

Hey @coffee, thanks for your help. I actually gave up on this idea for now because I wasn't able to complete necessary steps to make it in time for the holiday season.

wasn't able to complete necessary steps to make it in time

@yj, if you don't mind, I would love to understand these steps where? I only ask as I'm trying to understand what problems people are having with No Code tools/platforms. More insight would be appreciated!

Haha, sorry, I should have been more clear. I wasn't able to make the physical product in time that I wanted to sell. I didn't have any trouble with webflow except that it didn't allow for customizable products (eg. A product that could be engraved with a custom message).

Hey, I don't know much about site builders other than Elementor and Fusion. But if you're hosting your website on WordPress I gotta recommend the MPG plugin, it creates multiple pages with custom URLs without overloading your website: https://www.mpgwp.com/
You can update the pages anytime, too.
    Best of luck!

Have you looked into solutions like Bubble.io?

    Bubble allows you to create:

    1. a digital store
    2. reusable custom-content templates (populated by a database)
    3. pre-canned, UI templates

You will most likely need two different platforms.

While one might excel in ecomm they won't do well in landing pages.

    https://getshogun.com/shopify are built for ecomm.

Thanks, that seems like a solid suggestion. Have you ever used Shogun? Do you have any idea what the pricing is like?

Nope, just recently found and it seemed like it is built for your use case.
