Honest question for this community. We talk a lot about great tools and productivity hacks. But what about the tools that are just... terrible – and yet we keep paying for them? What B2B/saas software do you use daily that you actually hate? The kind where you open it every morning and immediately feel annoyed. Too expensive, confusing UI, missing the one feature you need, support that ignores you... For smaller businesses especially it feels like the market has either huge enterprise tools that are way too complex – or cheap tools that are missing half the features. What's your experience? Curious to hear what everyone is dealing with. Will reply to every comment 👇
elevenlabs. great quality, terrible pricing for production use. was paying ~$22/month and burning through credits fast doing AI video narration. switched to cartesia - about 8x cheaper per character and the voice quality is honestly comparable for most use cases. sometimes worse on emotion range but for product demos and explainer content its perfectly fine.
also canva. the free tier is genuinely good but the moment you need one premium element it holds your entire design hostage. ended up building a python script that calls image generation APIs directly - $0.003 per image vs $13/month for canva pro. obviously different use case but for batch content generation the API approach is way more cost effective.
the pattern i notice: tools that are great for occasional use become painful when you need them at scale. thats where python + APIs starts beating every no-code tool.
