I'm using FreeAgent, because it was provided by my accountant.
Ok thanks! Wondering - when did you start having an accountant? Speaking in terms of
business lifehaha (when you reached X amount etc?)I started right away really, I founded my company when starting a Software Development contract, so it made sense to have someone manage it for me.
Very personal idea... we tried different software (Italian-based startup) and always came back with classic Google sheet. I don't know if it's because of our madness or because we like to pain, but we strongly believe that if found a pattern or a framework through which to represent data, google Sheets or Excel wins over any competitor (unless you want automatic analysis).
Then I also think it all depends on the complexity of the data and the size of the business...
Maybe I was not helpful :) those are my two cents.
Haha interesting that you came back to the old good Sheet style. I'm also considering that at a point, or notion... But I guess it depends as well about the business - being
solopreneursome stuff like quickbooks etc feel overcomplicated related to what I need. Apparently even for some companies (ref to you ahah) Sheet is still viable, thanks for the input :DDon't know if it's the best or not, we use QuickBooks

Yeah heard of it, its part of the ones that often come back in the list online! Thanks 😊
I started with spreadsheets too, but it got overwhelming once I had to deal with multiple projects and clients. I switched over to Unit4 and it’s been a big step up: invoicing, expenses, even project accounting all sit in one place now. The best part for me is not chasing small mistakes at the end of the month, it just keeps things cleaner so I can focus on work.
One popular choice is QuickBooks. It's user-friendly and offers a range of features to help you manage your finances effectively. Another solid option is Xero, known for its cloud-based convenience and intuitive interface. Both of these software solutions are great for tracking income and expenses and generating reports.
