What startup/SaaS/project/app are you working on right now?

Interested to know what everyone is working on right now. How long have you been working on it? What stage are you at?

on September 5, 2022
  1. 10

Working on https://www.vitaely.me/: turning your Linkedin profile into a landing page resume.

Adding the ability to edit your information at the moment alongside ongoing work to create blog content for SEO purposes.

    1. 6

Oh I like this. Nice idea.

Make sure to offer clean and customisable pdf downloads. Maybe for a fee? Most companies require you to attach a resume as an upload…

      1. 4

100% agree with the PDF idea!

      2. 1

Thank you for checking it out!

Great call on the PDF download. This is something I recently added, but I think it can still be drastically improved.

Also seems like a good potential monetisation point for sure!

        1. 2

I would also suggest adding more templates for downloading a resume. People always want to have several options. Nevertheless you're doing an amazing job. I like the concept a lot!

          1. 1

Thank you very much for checking it out and for the kind words!

I think it's a great point! I need to get around to doing this.

I can also see Premium Templates being a monetisation idea; both for PDF downloads and the landing pages themselves.

            1. 2

This might be premature but if you allow other developers to put in templates, then you an build a marketplace without having to create all the templates yourself.

              1. 1

Really nice idea, I can see that this could be an effective to make the product may more appealing!

    2. 3

Great work. You could add an option to add a GitHub profile which will list their projects and links to them. You could also make the company name/college name a hyperlink so that viewers can visit their LinkedIn profiles.

  2. 7

    Happia.io

Its aimed at companies with 40+ employees to make their staff happier, stick around longer and ultimately make the company more money.

    1. 3

Love the idea and you have a super clean landing page!

      1. 1

Thank you, what about the idea do you love?

        1. 1

People leave work to either chase happiness or leave unhappiness (or both). This looks like a great potential to help make the latter occur less. Best of luck!

          1. 1

thank you, what are you working on?

    2. 1

Gorgeous landing page and clear story line! My company is still around 20-25 and hybrid, though there’s potential to organize online events too. Either way, love the idea!

    3. 1

Your website looks very good and the product that you offer is very good and important for companies to take care off. How are you acquiring customers at the moment? Are you making use of cold-emailing or do you contact HR employees on LinkedIn? I'm quite curious to see what works in which niches.

      Great work!

      1. 1

        Cold email, Twitter, Linkedin.

We are doing very well locally as well, which is where the bulk of our time is spent.

Any ideas suggestions on what style of cold email might land well?

    4. 1

Since we're in the same industry I'm curious!

How do you help employees stay longer?
Why are you specifically targeting companies with 40+ employees?
What core issue did you identify that your application solves?

I'm working over at introdus 😄

PS I gotta copy what @davebrantley said: The landing page is very clean! Looking good!

      1. 1

        Wow thank you ;)

I'll tell ya mine if you tell me yours!

        1. 1

Sure! Not much of a secret anyway 😄

I'm not exactly sure what I can help you answer, but we specialize in preboarding an onboarding. We aim to improve customer retention by giving companies better tools to welcome, train and onboard their new hires.

This is all based off of some very scary numbers in the industry that people quit within their first year, some even never show up on the first day and so on.
That's the problem we're trying to solve and we primarily target enterprise clients 😄

  3. 5

I am building AI2sql. AI2sql uses AI to generate SQL queries from natural language input. I crossed $100 in MRR for AI2sql.

    1. 1

Nice!! Congrats, how did you decide on your pricing strategy? How did PH launch work out for you?

      1. 2

Thanks! Our pricing strategy is to offer a free trial, and then a monthly subscription. We do this because we want our customers to get a feel for the product before they commit, and we also want to make sure they're comfortable with the price point.

The launch was great—we had a lot of traffic, which was great for getting new users in the door. We've been able to scale up our product in response to user feedback, which has been really helpful in terms of making sure we're delivering what people want.

  4. 4

Currently working on Kinde a startup for startups. We're leading with Auth but eventually providing all the building blocks a new SaaS business needs to get to market asap.

We've been going since early this year and are currently establishing product-market fit.

    Would love feedback :)

  5. 3

Currently working on https://usecomponent.com -- making it easier for companies to build forms with complex workflows, automation and third party tools like Docusign, Stripe, Hubspot, etc. Went live last week!

    1. 2

First of all, your description sounds amazing. Seems like a very helpful programm.

I have one feedback point. When I clicked the URL, it straight away redirected me to a login page. I would suggest first showing off the benefit of your product before you let people make an account straight away.

      Keep up the good work!

      1. 1

Hey! Thank you for pointing this out -- it was actually a bug that was caused by a route protection component! Should hopefully be fixed now. If you run into any other issues lmk anytime :)

      1. 1

Thank you!! Means a lot -- if you have feedback/questions/challenges with it let me know anytime :)

  6. 3

I am working on platform for artists that will allow them to share their art in 3D virtual space: https://460gallery.com

I have a demo with possibility of joining waitlist, but as you might guess building beta version takes a lot of time 🙈

The summer was not productive for me, so I hope to be more productive now 😄 🏖

    1. 1

This is really cool. Going to forward to my artist friend. How do you plan on monetizing?

      1. 1

Thank you, Ryan! The artist will be charged monthly based on how many exhibitions and artworks he has

    2. 1

It looks great actually. Each artist gets space for showcasing their work. Visitor's attention is focused on one piece of art at a time. I like the idea!

  7. 3

kocobee.com -> Start validating your idea in minutes, not weeks.

  8. 3

I am working on a tool to build a waitlist of early users with referral marketing. https://getlaunchlist.com

Any feedback will be helpful :)

    1. 1

This product look amazing. How long have you been working on it for? How big of a team?

      1. 1

        Thank you @Andywalker :)

I started working in the 1st week of March and launched in mid-April.

        I am running solo.

  9. 3

WordPress analytics plugin called Independent Analytics: https://independentwp.com/

It's much easier to use than Google Analytics and has integrations with WP that give users better data. Also much better for privacy since it runs entirely on your own server.

For years now, I've had numerous projects running at once, but I'm starting to sell things off and drop some side projects to focus better on this one product.

    1. 2

Looks really mature and well designed. Well done <3

  10. 3

Part of a small team at https://truealpha.io/ - an automated KPI dashboarding solution for CEOs/CFOs of startups and SMEs with an integrated shareholder management module.

Hey Sid, I see HTML/CSS is there any demand for Tailwind services?

      1. 1

Not enough. In Q2, I planned to start with Tailwind services. Sent Emailers but the response wasn't that great. So dropped the idea & didn't go back to it.

But thank you for reminding me, I may do another round of research & see if companies are interested in Tailwind.

        1. 1

Thanks, are you open to new website builder platforms? What would be the requirements?

          1. 1

Are you asking if I want to add more website builders?
            I'm sorry, I didn't quite get it.

Do you provide website development services?

              1. 1

That's Amazing. Would love to connect with you sometime.

    2. 1

Interesting! Would love to pick your brain as I am looking to start something similar devs-only.

      1. 1

Sure @Useini7. Shoot me an email at [email protected].
Would love to be of help.

  14. 2

I am trying to create another TODO list app.

    1. 1

I think there's a list of top 10 apps that all devs do. todo list is one of them :)

      did mine years back.

      1. 1

care to share the link? I have been learning Swift for the last month. This will be my first app.

        1. 1

I don't got the link now, but basically it talks about ups and downs of developers. from working at megatech to wanting to do their own thing, to many side projects, to end up back at megatech...

  15. 2

Currently working on https://dailynietzschesignup.wordpress.com/ - well, just sort-of-finished it. First app I've made!

  16. 2

Plotolo, a framework that can convert data science python notebooks into interactive web apps. No landing page or anything like that yet (I know, I know...), but I just discovered this is technically feasible.

  17. 2

Working on blockchain analytics - https://www.prospercircle.com/
Current focus is on ETH NFT insights.

Have been working in the blockchain space for 1.5 years. Working on ProsperCircle since April of this year.

  18. 2

Glad you asked! I am working on Knowwa to improve the workflow when working on documents (Google Docs, Google Sheets etc) in a team. You can add very simple template tags to docs and past the link to the platform and Knowwa generates a to-do list with assignees from it, tracks the progress, nudges users who did not provide input and handles access control (if wanted).

I have been working on it for a few weeks now and I am currently in the process of making everything a bit flashy and I am waiting to verify the google application. Would be very thankful for feedback on the idea and potential beta-testers already!

Hello, I am working at https://imgupscale.com/ . ImgUpscale is a tool for upscaling images (increase image resolution) that uses Artificial Intelligence at its core. It is still in the beta stage, I have a lot of ideas of improvement, but for the last part of the year I am trying to focus on promoting it.

Conversational AI...beyond Siri and Cortana. Simple commands. For example, assist you in searching, organizing, and processing vast amounts of data. But at your directives. A kind of like no-code SaaS (or PaaS or IaS) builder, but with voice.

Beyond Siri or Cortana or the lesser "chatbots" (with their pre-programmed responses).

As a PDA (personal digital assistant), it will hone in on your thinking pattern, your interests, and your voice tonality and speech pattern (as a security/authentification feature...perhaps). A true extension of yourself in the digital realm. It constantly learns and evolves. From you; in order to become a better digital servant.

The easiest part; the technical issues are mostly solved. The hard part? The ethical issues. The risks of abuse. By the owner or a third party. Most likely a government or malicious entity. Or both.

    Thoughts?

I'm building a startup valuation and fundraising tool (startupval.com). The idea came out of two issues I experienced.

    1. When raising for another startup I got frustrated at how long it took to prospect investors, find an in-route and follow up.
    2. When building models for startups I advise it took a long time to build the model but once build could be easily adapted.

So I've built a platform that connects founders and investors seamlessly. The platform also lets founders or investors create a valuation in under 10 minutes.

I'm currently beta testing so if anyone is interested feel free to reach out or head to startupval.com and get a free valuation (all I ask is you share the platform if you like it).

We’re building Double as a way to connect with others to do everyday tasks together in real-time. (https://doubleapp.xyz)

It’s based upon this concept called “body doubling” where performing a task (e.g., doing the dishes, running) can be made markedly easier with someone else around (https://doubleapp.xyz/blog/body-doubling-proxy).

What’s nice is we have been using the app to built out the app. There’s certain bugs that sometimes we put off, but just need to schedule some time to do it together.

Still early stages with private beta, adding batches every few days. Aiming for 1.0 release by end of month!

    Hello, Carolyn
    I am working on https://official.page
A startup for startups and individuals to create pages inside to showcase themself or their business to other community members.

Working on it since last year, it's been almost 13 months on coding and all, it's a simple profile builder, a short link for all your digital links and content.

We can post Text posts, can upload Images, and Videos, and can link social networks under a profile page, such as a Youtube channel, Facebook profile/fan page, Twitter, Linkedin, and other popular networks by choosing them from the list to appear under a page.

Today I joined Indie Hackers, I was reading an article and reached here, I am happy to connect with your question.

I could use this. Writing content is expensive and most freelancers I have hired don’t know how to balance good content and SEO.

One quick note. The Register Now! button gets wrapped in mobile view.

      1. 1

That's exactly why we created this tool. The goal is to quickly create a lot of content on the whole range of long tail keywords.

It is difficult and expensive to build a full-featured, scalable application that can be deployed to the cloud?

It's costly and time-consuming to find backend components and come up with a cloud architecture that is compatible with each other (especially if you have complex needs).

clAppIt.io provides all the backend components that are necessary for building an app in one place. Saving you time, energy, and money. Building your app has never been easier- develop it faster and more affordably!

Really early days. I am trying to create a calendar sharing web app.

You have an event you want to do with other people; you create a session and put a selection or range of potential dates into a calendar; you generate a URL and share that around; people log in and indicate what dates they can do; you then evaluate all the submissions and agree your event date.

Quite simple really and shabby fashions of this already exists. I just described the prototype - the final thing will have tonnes more features and intelligence. I have a good (great :D) plan of how to monetize it and promote mass adoption through marketing campaigns. I also have a brand name and strategy which will further differentiate it from the ugly throwaways which always exists to a powerhouse people actually want to use. I've done lots if 'soft' validation with friends and acquittances who express that there is a problem to be solved here.

I work in technical implementation, so I understand concepts, but I don't know any code. I'm actually trying to find either advice on if such a thing would be possible to build through a low-code application, or if I might find somebody with the skills to get involved and help me build it. If anybody has any advice, please share!

      Hi,

I may be able to help.

I have already developed a NoCode app that can meet your requirements, but I haven't made it public yet.

If there is interest, I can present the current state of the app in a Zoom session.

I’ve been building madepublic.io for just over a month! It’s a platform for indiehackers to build their project in public and forego Twitter.

It’s primarily built on the idea of discovering and showing off the tools and projects you’re building with a project feed, following, getting notifications and more.

Currently working on turning the landing page into more of a dashboard and comments. After that I’ll be adding images to feed entries and I should then be good enough for launch.

Gonna add the ability to promote your project to the homepage too

I have been on building a portfolio for Appfission labs.

It's an on and off exercise of building casual game and productivity apps. Two of my apps were pulled off from playstore for almost 5 yrs. This was due to a policy change by Google Play at that time and i was too lazy to accept the terms and keep the apps in healthy mode in playstore. I just reinstated them back and feel great to see my first venture into entrepreneurship back live into action \m/.

I joined this community to learn from each one of you. Hear your stories - success or failure. Be inspired, and to think beyond. I am a total novice in this regard, but do have a look at my apps and share any inputs you may have.

    Current apps include:
    a. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.appfission.mathamuse

    b.https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.appfission.wordzza

    c.https://play.google.com/apps/test/com.mavelstech.peptask/10

Mathamuse and Wordzza were the one that got reinstated 2 days back. I am currently working on a third app - Peptask, a productivity task management app. It's currently under internal testing and made using flutter.

Everything I built primarily was for learning purpose and all of the apps are free 😃

Currently working on https://cadrelo.com/ - a culture-building platform that helps hybrid and remote teams connect, align and perform some core rituals more easily. Have been working on this with my co-founder, a friend who jumped ship to join us, and another business partner since October. We:

    • Launched a closed alpha in May
    • Launched an open beta now in August with teams easily being able to access out platform

We're finding adoption and change in behavior a challenge. Our platform is really broad and is working on streamlining that more with some core customer USPs and some other marketing strategies which include creating an open source/free experience around some valuable interactive team sessions.

We're just grinding and probably dealing with the thing that we're weakest at....marketing and sales :/

Our goal is to raise some capital through good growth indicators (someone take a chance on us) and build our second phase which will focus more on building our virtual team member Dre out and building more of the human capital components of our platform.

  135. 1

Currently working on https://krumzi.com, a 2-sided marketplace on-boarding both recruiters and candidates. The goal is giving each of our users the chance to get the job they dream about, as well as finding the perfect candidate for each job.

I have been working on it for about 6 months and it is currently in the open beta testing phase, therefore there is no pricing plan, nor payment required, so anyone joining now and providing feedback would receive free lifetime access :)

    It’s fun to do.

I am working on Lost Pixel - next-gen visual regression testing framework. We decided to open-source the core part to make visual regression testing more accessible to the public. I'm working on an certificate management SaaS called Certopus which helps organizations to Design and Deliver verifiable certificates.

We have developed features like easy to use certificate designer with professionally designed templates, bulk generation, mass mailing, robust verification system, tracking insights, premium white labelling. Our goal to develop this platform is to help organizations in digitization of their certificate campaigns and save up to 90% of their costs and time so that they can be more productive and also the robust verification system prevents financial as well as reputation losses that organizations used to bear because of certificate forgery scams.

We are working on it from a year and we are at early traction stage where we are refining the MVP as per the feedback to attain PMF state.

P.S. You can have a look at it and try from https://certopus.com

I'm working on an employee onboarding tool that enables HR managers to build automatic journeys via email.

I am working on Grepp - the Library of Things

    https://grepp.de/?lang=en

My vision of Grepp is this:

Grepp is the most friendly neighbor you'll ever have (and also some kind of a hoarder). Whatever you need, you can borrow it quickly and uncomplicated from Grepp. That guy really goes above and beyond to deliver it to your doorstep and picks it up when you're done with it.

Broke your hair dryer and need one RIGHT NOW? Get it from Grepp.
Want to make fancy burgers for the next BBQ? Borrow a patty-form for just that day.
Got your brother's kids coming over and want to take them on a trip? Borrow child seats for just two days.
Fixing your bike but got no tools to do it at hand? No need to run to the store and buy them, just get them from Grepp.

It is somewhat early stage, heading to validation phase real fast (as soon as my PWA is done). Total work put in is about ~4 Months excluding a long research phase.

  145. 1

I'm working on a web-scraping extension but to be honest I wish I'd done my research beforehand because there's a lot of competition in this niche. I'm trying to find ways to differentiate my product from others on the market as that's the only way I can see it standing out.

  146. 1

I'm in the early stages of building a B2B software business. Have had great early feedback and am just about to bring another dev on board. I'm working on it alongside my 9-5 and don't think I'll be quitting anytime soon as I'm in such a niche market that it's unlikely I'll make enough money to be able to go all in on it. My idea is the get this one up and running and to a point where it needs very little input from me and then I'll be working on other software that can also be scaled and then combined I'll have 2-3 businesses that will generate enough income for me to be a full-time founder.

    1. 1

I'm in the same zone and building a SaaS along with a job is very difficult. Do you have any paying customers?

    2. 1

How much do you want to earn to quit your job? I struggle with setting such a goal, compensation in software is really high.

  147. 1

I'm working on my blog! I had three articles there but had a break from writing. Wrote 5 articles this month, got around 5k reads. A good break from all the coding work and working on a company. Really satisfying. I have no financial or any other goal for it. Maybe to share knowledge. Also every article is really a retrospective on something I was working on in the past.

    1. 2

That's awesome! Could you maybe elaborate on what are you writing about and how do you promote your blog?

      1. 2

The blog is here, have a look! https://horosin.com

        Writing about:

        • programming
        • startups
        • tech jobs / working in companies

My angle is that if I had many conversations with friends and coworkers about something and had to explain something multiple times then maybe it's a good idea to write about it. Now I'm just sending the links to my articles. Also if I did something useful and it didn't have a chance to reach a lot of people, I like to write about it. I am also planning to write about anything useful I did and wrote about in my private knowledge base.

        Promotion:

        • Indie Hackers - if it's startup related, then I'm posting it here - a lot of traffic came from IH, thanks everyone!
        • Hashnode - I host my blog in there. They featured some of my posts on the homepage and it drove a lot of traffic
        • I'm posting articles on linkedin
        • I'm posting links in my instagram stories
        • I'm reposting my content also on hacker noon - a lot of people read it there and some signed up for newsletter.

These mentioned above work the best. I also start to have some traffic from google search.

        Things that didn't really work:

        • Posting on medium
        • Posting on dev.to
        • Posting on hacker news
        • Posting on twitter - but I got 27 new followers (started at 3, my friends don't really use it) - I'm expecting some improvement
        1. 1

That's some very good insight, thanks!
