What steps do you take to Validate your Idea?

i'm currently building a SaaS and needed to validate the idea before going further.
i want to learn from those of you who have done it.

    1. Who is this for?
    2. Ask when was the last time a problem occur?
    3. How do they solve it? (Ie current solution)
    4. Is the problem big enough or just a little itch?
    5. Why do they think (answer of 4.)?

    Note: Never pitch your idea. Discover problems and build relationships with people.
