Thought this would be a fun exercise to get some brain juices flowing.
I tried thinking about this myself, and I found it is a lot harder to pinpoint than I thought.
I came up with a few:
- Zoom. Maybe this is me blowing off steam for the sheer number of Zoom meetings that I need to join at work, but I find the UX of Zoom to be very unintuitive when in calls/sharing screen. I also often have issues where my calendar won't sync with Zoom, super frustrating when trying to jump between meetings.
- Photos app (out of the box) for Mac. I actually like the Photos app just fine for my iPhone, but I hate the Photos app on my MacBook. I hate how it tries to hide the photo files from the user by design. As a result I often get confused which photos have been imported into Photos vs which ones I just have in my Pictures folder. I wish it acted more as a basic photo/picture viewer-organizer.
- Connecting to my work's VPN. This one is a bit vague and includes more than one product, but not only does our actual VPN have a bunch of issues (hanging, inconsistent connections), the VPN client we are forced to use has issues as well where it needs to be restarted often.
Interesting question. And, interesting ideas - surprisingly think Zoom's alright. But to be fair, I haven't relied much on connecting it with my calendar.
I guess social media would be for me. Services like Whatsapp and Facebook feel irreplaceable but at the same time a little dodgy considering the privacy setting.
Now I guess I will wander around the whole day wondering what else could be better. Thank you for the creative and fun question :)
