What to research on when you have an idea for a new venture?

Let's say there is a new idea bouncing in your head for a few days. What are the topics you do a research on for that idea? Competitors? Other solutions? What else?
I have such an idea in my head, but I'm feeling like I don't know how to proceed and where to start. 🤯
I'd search forums where they hang out to see if the problem you're trying to solve comes up in conversations.
I'd also look at review websites (for example, if you're doing software - check out G2 or TrustPilot) to see what people like/dislike about the competition so you know where you can win.
Sign up for competitor's products where possible.
If you could find some people that use your potential future competitor's product and talk to them, even better.
If you can find someone who founded a company in that space and decided to stop or was acquired, talking to them could give you some super great insights.
So yeah — talk to a bunch of people — but don't get stuck here for too long! Maybe like, a week tops.
