What tools are a must have for recording a podcast?

We use:
Zencastr for recording the podcast remotely - It records each audio track locally and combines them together in the cloud which results in better audio quality than recording streaming audio from e.g. Skype.
Audacity to edit and touch up the audio once it's recorded
Rev.com for transcriptions
Transistor.fm for podcast hosting
I haven't tried a ton of other stuff, but I've found this to be a pretty good stack.

Isn't Transistor expensive?
I guess it's all relative. We pay $20/month for Transistor which I think is worth it, but that might not be true for everyone.
Of these services, Rev.com is by far the most expensive because it's about $1 per minute of audio (that's roughly the price of all transcription services from what I can tell). We transcribe ~40 minutes of of audio each week, which comes out to roughly $160/month. That's the first thing I'd cut if we were trying to save money.
