Report
I'm curious to see the data. A friend of mine told med that 90% of indie hackers are developers, but I couldn't find any source or poll for this.
So, the poll is simple. Are you a dev founder, or a none dev founder? :)
I made this report 2 years ago, maybe you can find some interesting stuff there https://the-maker-report.netlify.app/results/2019/no-code-code-design.html#result
These results are interesting! My hypothesis would be that the proportion of indie hackers that aren't developers has increased over the last few years.
Especially since the pandemic started, it seems like the growth of the creator economy has really accelerated. There are now lots of opportunities to be an indie hacker without being a developer through things like newsletters, membership-based communities, videos, podcasts, ecommerce stores and info products.
Thanks! Looks like the vast majority were developers back then.
Anecdotally, I found a lot of indie hackers to wear many hats - dev, marketing, design, ops, etc.
Sure thing! But some of us are not even capable of coding our selves :)
