I see we had good traffic after launching on ProductHunt, but after that we really need much advertising and linkbuilding to even come close to that traffic we had from ProductHunt.
What other websites or places had bring you the most traffic/users ?
My best move was to "lower the quality bar" on content marketing to overcome my resistance to starting.
I don't mean lowering it in terms of utility to readers, just in terms of polish. I recorded simple YouTube videos with mediocre sound quality that provided information people were looking for and couldn't easily find elsewhere. Then over time, I've slowly raised the quality bar.
Almost all my traffic comes from Google, YouTube, DDG and people sharing my educational content online. It's not a fast way to build traffic but I think useful content is still a largely undervalued channel.
to get free traffic nowadays got 1000x harder than years ago. I'd rather look at your business model and check that the CAC is significantly larger than the LTV, so you can afford to acquire users. If your CAC is not larger than the LTV try to tweak your model. If not possible and you still think product has huge potential read the book Traction, it's older but goes into 18 ways of creating traffic/buzz. But again, in the first place have the right unit economics or you end up with a long struggle. There's no free traffic.
Our product is charge 2% per transaction, only if a payment link gets paid it is hard to know how much you per user, but we also go launch a €8 per month premium plan.
hm, 8 EUR/m, let's assume 15m lifetime => your customer value is 120 EUR, not too bad... might be still too low for proper perf marketing and arbitrage in this segment where CACs are high
Every product has its own niche.. In my case, i shared my app Copypaste across various sections, college students, working people.. It clicked with college students.. Ever since, i have focussed on them
What are you good at? Start there. That might be writing, audio, video or coding.
Our team is good at coding. So we built https://saaspages.xyz/
First understand your market, then understand how you can bring value to them. Writing 100 rehashed blog posts won't do anything.
Well we offer to create payment links, but that is not so unique, so i guess first thing is to launch more features like: payment page, form builder, etc..
If you have paying customers or potential paying customers speak to them before you start building random features.
We build websites which isn't unique at all. We have solved the problem uniquely though. Find out what your product does better than anyone else and that should help decide how you will market.
