π year of free website monitoring.π
Giving away 5 packages. Let's go π
I accidentally took down our production marketing site on a Thursday afternoon. I was trying to switch us over to Cloudflare and lo and behold, not everything transitioned correctly.
The person who had the right permission to "undo" my mess was at a dentists appointment, so I was in panic mode for an hour or so while our site was down and my boss was probably sitting in a dentist's chair.
I felt terrible and had to write up a post-mortem on what went wrong and what cause us to probably lose out on 5 figures of revenue. Lesson learned: do not migrate anything hosting related in the middle of the day.
Over the past 10 years I never experienced downtime due to hardware issues, although hardware did show signs of dying on me, but I did experience downtime due to network outage which was beyond my control. I think that 2 hours of downtime was the worst I've seen.
