Hi,
I'm curious, what has been your best tech recruitment experience so far? With what tools?
Many people will probably agree with this post regarding Leet Code platform weaknesses: https://fev.al/posts/leet-code/
But what is the alternative?
A bit out there but I personally think the best "technical interview" process would be to give a few pieces of complex-ish code and have the candidate walk you through what the code does, if there are bugs, how they would optimize it (not just for complexity but readability and maintainability as well).
Obviously this would be on top of some domain specific questions to make sure the person is technically qualified in whatever stack/domain.
alternative is something like triplebyte or toptal although both have now deteriorated but i still see some potential in their approach. I think what is required is to have comprehensive exam of developers for different skills
in general all the activities that are generally required for day to day developer job.
However this should be done only once in some platform and thereafter companies should not interview developers for these things again and again it should be like SAT for college entrance where once candidate gives the exam he/she can apply to any college with that score.
There should also be two way ratings of companies and candidate in platform which can be used to prevent system abuse by companies as well as candidates.
This will save time for companies as they would only have to interview candidates for their domain if its not there in the platform and see if candidate is fit culturally/behaviorally.
Candidates will also not have to go for same dev interview again and again and their scores will be valid for year.
Pulling this off is HARD :-)
WOW! Thanks!
