Hey Indie Hackers,
MonitUp measures the productivity of teams and freelancers.
I've searched and found everything for SEO but the results are terrible :( I appear on Google with relevant keywords, but I lag far behind. What could I be doing wrong?
I chose Employee Monitoring as the keyword because my main job is Employee Monitoring. Could this be a wrong choice?
When I say Employee monitoring on Google, my competitors appear.
I made a page with Employee Monitoring: https://www.monitup.com/employee-monitoring-software-guid
I used these as keywords in the site: "tracking, monitoring, employee experience, sensitive data, access, employees monitoring, computer monitoring system, remote employee s control, Focused on employee productivity monitoring, computer monitoring, internet monitoring, time control software, employee monitoring software, parental control, safe kids"
My daily visitors are 20 on average, but those coming from Google are only searched by MonitUp.
What could I be doing wrong to get visitors from my right audience from Google? What should I check?
Hi Faruk,
I recently took this free course on SEO: https://ahrefs.com/academy/seo-training-course
I wish I had taken it sooner. I had skipped learning the SEO fundamentals and was just going off of the 'hacks' and 'tips' I read in articles. Now that I know the fundamentals feel a lot more confident. My biggest takeaway was that quality is far more important than quality when it comes to writing content.
Hello Elle,
Thank you very much for your recommendation. I'll be watching this, there's so much different and so much work to do. I'm trying to grow up :)
I'm going to start writing content this week, I've been putting it off for a long time.
I will do my best to write quality content.
For example, if you want to rank highly on the google search 'employee monitoring', you should look at the top 5 ranking pages for that search right now. Then, write content that is 10x better than that.
How long have you been doing SEO? You'll need like 9mo before you start to see anything reasonable (and have enough information to make tweeks).
Here's what I'm doing for the GapScout blog that is paying off: creating Pillar & Spoke content. On pillar article on a keyword, then spoke content that all links to that pillar keyword article (and to each other).
That'll help in terms of your content structure. It's early, but I'm seeing organic traffic gains for lower competitive keywords. Which is another point, make sure you get keywords that you can "win" as well as going after some of the harder terms. I use KWFinder for this.
It's probably been 5.6 months, what should I expect to happen after 9 months? For example; An average of 40 people will come through Google per day.
What do you think of my keyword? Am I moving right?
I'm considering adding a blog page within the website so I can associate keywords between blogs.
40 is pretty solid. Are you writing articles around a single keywords and is your blog part of your primary domain? (yoursite.com/blog instead of blog.yoursite.com)?
I do not have a blog yet, I will prepare it as soon as possible. I need to quickly attract the right visitors to my website.
I recently got hit by a google update. I just recovered my website with some basic concepts of SEO. I want to learn seo step by step.
SEO (Search Engine Optimization) is a critical aspect of any website, including those of real estate agents. Effective SEO can help your website rank higher in search engine results, making it easier for potential clients to find you online. Here are some key SEO strategies to consider for your real estate website:
Keyword research: Start by researching relevant keywords that potential clients might use to find real estate agents or properties in your area. Incorporate these keywords into your website content, including page titles, descriptions, and headers.
High-quality content: Create high-quality, relevant, and engaging content that provides value to your website visitors. This could include blog posts, property descriptions, and local market insights. Make sure to include relevant keywords in your content.
Mobile optimization: More and more people are using mobile devices to browse the web, so it's essential that your website is mobile-optimized. This means that your website should be easily accessible and functional on all mobile devices.
Page speed: The loading speed of your website can affect your search engine rankings, so it's important to optimize your website for fast loading speeds. This could include optimizing images and videos, using a content delivery network (CDN), and reducing the number of HTTP requests.
Title tags and meta descriptions: Your title tags and meta descriptions should include relevant keywords and provide a clear and concise description of the content on each page of your website. This information appears in search engine results, so it's important to make it clear and engaging.
Backlinks: Backlinks are links from other websites to your website and can significantly improve your search engine rankings. Look for opportunities to get backlinks from other relevant websites, such as local business directories, news outlets, or industry publications.
Local SEO: As a real estate agent, you likely want to attract clients in a specific geographic area. Use local SEO strategies to improve your visibility in local search results, such as optimizing your Google My Business profile, adding local keywords to your content, and getting listed in local directories.
By implementing these SEO strategies, you can improve the visibility and ranking of your website, attract more potential clients, and establish a stronger online presence as a real estate agent.
