Google analytics and Mixpanel. Can't go wrong.
Endorsed. Used this combination of tools on a prior side project and would use again.
Multiple sources aren’t bad if you’re ok at keeping in mind that each source has a varying set of use cases. For example, use GA to look at the aggregate effectiveness of campaigns, and look at Mixpanel data alongside (or in lieu of) user interviews.
The “most valuable data” - and I say this as an analytics practitioner in the day job - is the data that’s carefully selected toward your specific business goals. For example: looking for growth in users? “Visitors” as a metric is misleading if it’s folding in your existing customers’ usage; filter to new visitors or filter out traffic to the true app pages and then put that filtered number on your dashboard.

Google Analytics is still the best and most reliable though with the recent changes to privacy regulation, the way you're supposed to use it is a bit of a grey area. Are you only supposed to insert the tracking script once a user has consented?
I think too many people obsess over analytics at the early stages. And yes this is coming from someone in SEO & marketing who loves data. I obviously think it's extremely important but I think in the early stages a lot of people use it to justify not doing something because it didn't gain enough traction even though that isn't justified and they're just looking for excuses.
Been using a combination of Google Analytics (general traffic) and Mixpanel (events and funnels). So far so good even though I downgraded our Mixpanel account as we were not using all the features.
