    For Ministry of Testing:

    • focus on community building in all the places - our own forum, Slack, Twitter, LinkedIn
    • Intercom for all intercom-y things.
    • global network of meetups run by volunteers
    • Buffer, Trello as tools.
    • ethics - grow positively whilst supporting the community (we have a scholarship programme)
    • always be seeking new talent
    • occasionally (truthfully rarely) hang out on Reddit and Quora
    • Flipboard for tracking useful content on the web
    • a pain in the butt weekly newsletter (using Mailchimp)...it's been going 6 years!
    • a free jobs board
    • free content - articles, AMAs, Masterclasses
    • curating and maintaining a list of software testing bloggers

Do you run analytics on the free content (articles, masterclasses) to see how they perform, for example whether the average page time is substantial and whether content converts well?

Hanging out where the customers hang out has been very valuable. You will hear of new problems there, you will hear ideas and suggestions there. You will also hear complaints and rants. Just listen to everything, and make the product better to solve those problems.

      I 100% agree!

It's not about tools so much as understanding your customers.

I'm a big fan of using online communities like Facebook groups, subreddits, Product Hunt, and LinkedIn.

It's always insightful to speak to users directly and understand ways to add value.

The communities you might want to use will be unique depending on who your audience is.

Being active on IndieHackers, some subreddits, iterating on product to improve word-of-mouth marketing. Probably starting a blog soon.
