What's marketing?

Hey, guys really excited to be part of this community.

I recently launched Writtan a speech to text app and would like to share my experience and maybe also get some tips.

So Launching the app was a proud moment and then I come to realise that a finished product is not the end all be all and marketing is even more important.

Current Steps I've taken:

Started creating a following on Twitter: @hansie1999
Built a website and started getting backlinks. (ps. comment if you know about any useful ways to get backlinks and traffic)
Reached out to current users through emails.

How would one proceed further:

1. Get featured on the app store tuff) has anyone had success?
2. Start making promotions, like 1 month free
3. Pay for ads :(
4. Does indie hacker and product hunt work?
5. Cold email what even is that?
6. ........Add anything else
