What's my product? Does my landing page tell the right story?

Don't take that too negative, but you're trying to save people's time to gather recipe information, but your own page has way too much text. Modern people, including myself, expect a screenshot/gif and a few words of explanation what it is. A few of these screenshot/slogan pairs and it should be clear what your app does. And in your case, I had to read a few paragraphs of text. It's written OK, assuming people have time to read.

Don't tell, SHOW what it does.

• The concept is well understood!
• The image on the header cannot be read.
• The image on the header does not tell a story.
• The text right under the header is soooOOOOooooo loooooong! I would suggest turning it into a funnier graphical description with shorter points.
• Basically, ClipDish crunches websites to give you the plain recipe in a more usable way, right? I would use precisely that argument, since it is powerful and cooks will understand you instantaneously!

I didn't even read the copy (so +1 to that feedback). In general I think you tell the right story. I have this problem and would use this.

Do you just take screenshots of the page? How do you remove ads? Does it remove all the superfluous writing (i.e. the blog post portions of recipes)?
