I feel like a lot of us are gearing up for our big Product Hunt launch.
If you have launched on Product Hunt before, what's one piece of advice you could give someone about to launch their product (based on what you learned from your Product Hunt launch)?
For most people it's a popularity contest and a waste of time, but many entrepreneurs feel that they need to do it.
Unless your product is targeted at the PH demographic, then it's not worth spending any time on it.
You need to very carefully determine if you're going to achieve your goals on PH, and that goal should never be scoring popularity points.
You have to honestly ask if it's going to bring in sales (cold hard CASH, not people signing up to look around) and if not then invest the time and effort into something that will.
For example, if you're building a SaaS for professional gardeners. Put the time into getting featured in a gardening publication instead of getting back pats from techies on Product Hunt.
