I'm building Howitzer, because I needed something like this and couldn't find it on the web.
Initially, I wanted to gain initial customers for one of my mobile side projects. I've already concluded that my target group "lives" in 2-3 subreddits, and I needed a way to address them.
Because Reddit is strictly moderated and 'self-promotion' is forbidden in nearly all subreddits, I had to think of a workaround... Reddit is just too good to be avoided as a marketing channel.
Initially, all redditors are there to gain some value and everyone is hungry for things that bring value to him, so I guess I needed to find a way to deliver valuable things to the users who are going to be interested in them, and avoid spamming everyone (by posting/commenting).

I built Dynomantle to originally solve my own problems around wanting to have my notes and bookmarks in one place as well as having the ability to search both. It has grown to include a number of other features such as helping my stop doom-scrolling. Having a product that is indispensable to my productivity keeps me motivated to keep working on it.

I am building https://jsontoolbox.com even though there is a sea of JSON converters. The reason for building this was a specific personal need. While working with multiple microservices and checking logs, I was formatting multiple JSON at the same time but all other apps would let me format one at a time and it was becoming difficult to keep track of all open tabs. So I created this app that would let me format/minify multiple JSON strings at the same time.
Though the initial idea was to work with multiple data at the same time. Slowly some feature request came from my colleagues and friends. Right now it has few workflows that no other JSON formatter supports like copying minified JSON in a single click or copying a sub-tree in a single click.

What motivates me is the desire to prove that we can use technology to democratize wealth. I want to create a collectively owned, income-generating digital asset and then democratically manage that cash flow to innovate other collectively owned digital assets together.

We can then very strategically outcompete for-profit businesses with coop alternatives while privatizing UBI, effectively claiming the "means of production" in cyberspace before doing the same in meatspace.

I'm starting small with an alternative to Google Alerts. I'd like to see everything online replaced by coops, as quickly as possible. But before this can happen, we need to prove out a new business model that utilizes thinking tools + democracy tools to generate + manage cash flow.
