by
Nishant Modi
Most early-stage B2C startups fail because they couldn't build the right audience.
What would be the right social platform to do so?
Instagram

Curious that you left the “build in public” poster child off the list…
didn't understand. Build-in public is not a platform
Sorry for confusing you. I was talking about Twitter (which is usually the service of preference for Build in public)
Got it thanks!
Well, it all depends on your product, if your product category is related to fashion or lifestyle you can use Facebook and Instagram.
What if it's an app or SaaS?
Facebook and Medium work great for app or Saas but again it still depend on your product that what type of audience you're targeting and where they are hanging out.
Thanks!
Agree with the comments :D It depends, and each business needs to test the platforms to see which one works best.
What about a indie hacker starting out?
Why not :) For instance, the Facebook community format worked best for the company I'm working for now, but social media experiments are always a good way to know. By the way, if you already have clients base, you could simply ask your clients which social media they are using the most.
awesome thanks!
Hi, it would depend on what services/products you’re offering. Knowing what your target market is (the people you seek to bring value to), you’ll be better able to choose. Of course, it’s absolutely possible to adapt your message to more than one platform. It comes down to what ressources you have so you can create the right content to resonate with the users of each platform.
Someone starting from scratch, who just has an idea?
The most effective social media channels for reaching your target audience for B2C depends on the age group you’re targeting.
20 to 40?
Then it's TikTok & Facebook
Facebook for 20 to 40??
Facebook for 30 -40 , TikTok for 20 -30
