What's the best way to communicate your project is early stage/WIP while building in public?
After years of building silently and in private I'm trying to be open with my new project. However I'm consistently feeling like I'm showing unfinished work and feel like I should put an alpha/beta sign on the site somewhere.
How do you deal with this?
Sometimes "unfinished" work that is clear about the problem it's solving is ok. What's important is to start the conversation with your target audience early, which will snowball your confidence. You might find that what you've built is great (or not, which is ok as well).
