What's the best way to sell an online course?

Hey,

I'm a student with some free time having been axed from curricular commitments.

Looking to sell my own online course on a topic I've been tutoring for quite some time with an excellent track record and feedback.

Looking to use an online course seller + landing page + PPC/social ads to get this whole thing running.

Is there a better, cheaper option?

Anyone that can help I'll be grateful forever. My twitter is @yathprem if you want to find me there!

Depending on what your course is about, webinars can work really well, especially if you have a good story to demonstrate the value of the course. For instance, you struggled with (whatever problem your audience has) until you discovered (solution or techniques, etc. with proof of accomplishments).

Share some of what you will teach in the course to provide some value but withhold enough details to create a desire in the full course. If possible, also include some testimonials and provide some sort of special offer at the end, whether it's a discount or some sort of premium.

    Best of luck!

Hi Yath! While we don't support payments (yet), we can host your course on Eduflow (www.eduflow.com).

If you want to give it a go, I would love to offer you 6 months of our Solo plan for free.

Payment should be possible through some other place, like Typeform. Let me know if I can help :)

I think you're already on the right path.

To have a usable LMS, I think Teachable and Podia are the only credible online course sellers.

If you need a separate landing page, Carrd works well.

I had a bad experience as an early Udemy instructor - after about a year they changed the revenue-share model and a $300 course was netting <$10 in revenue more often than not. Really shameful. I'm not aware of a marketplace that has replaced them.

    sorry. couldn't help myself...

    step 1:

    build something people want.

    step 2:

    charge them something for it.

most folks can't get past the first part because they haven't ever asked folks what they want (e.g. customer interviews).

    don't be one of those!

oh wow! customer interviews can happen all over the place! the best ones are in-person... or zoom calls now i suppose.

you can find customers or early-community members in the places where they already hang out (on the internet). help them, solve their problems, invite them to chat more and build a real relationship with them.

        that sort of thing.
