I'm currently navigating the SaaS waters with my project Hiringkit.co, and I'm curious about the ongoing costs I should anticipate.
For those of you running a B2B SaaS, especially solo developers handling everything from development to marketing, what does your average monthly expense look like?
I'm trying to forecast my budget and would really appreciate if you could provide a breakdown of costs per tool/service you use.
Thank you
I am running a SaaS as a ChatGPT Plugin. I spend about $80/month on GCP for cloud run, Cloud SQL and secret manager.
I hire someone from upwork to do some of the front end development for me. Depending on the size of the job, it usually is around $100 per job for design and development.
In terms of self-supporting, it really depends on your spending habits as an individual - whether have a family, mortgage, kids, etc.
Thanks for details. May I know why it is costing you $80/m for GCP ? Just sounds little expensive? How many customers do you have ?
I'm not far enough in my journey to really know, but my instinct is this will vary greatly depending on the type of business. For example, I'm working on an app that's does basically CRUD operations and I expect it to be relatively low volume traffic. That's going to cost a whole lot less than a compute-heavy, highly-trafficked AI saas.
do you have any ballpark figures or ranges on what one might expect in terms of average monthly costs? I understand it's a broad question given the variables at play, but any figures, examples, or even personal experiences you might have come across would be super helpful. I'm trying to gather as much information as possible to prepare and plan effectively.
